Book review: Masala Mix , Anupama Jain

Book review: Masala Mix , Anupama Jain

First the cover.. Yes, the cover.
The cover design is something that gets the short end of the stick in kindle versions, but this one you cant miss ! It parks itself in your brain whenever you come across it on Amazon, or reading groups, sort of like the chaat counter when you enter a wedding.
And you keep thinking you must check it out! The vibrant design and the fusion of hindi and english in the title gives you a heads up into the stories inside.

The stories dont disappoint you either. The authors distinctive style comes through in all of them. The stories encompass different life situations, choices and realities. The writing makes you think and reflect but doesnt overwhelm you with sadness or despair. This was especially important for me, as in the current times, I find myself craving simplicity and positivity.

Each story is different; yet the whole book comes together, like the chaat corner !! Favourite story Well The Marriage really stayed with me, because it was so bang on. When Krish Met Satya left me smiling too.

Should you pick it up?
You dont miss the chaat corner do you? Then why would you miss the book?
